Art at Gayle’s
Featured Artist: Ann Baldwin May
Ann Baldwin May, art quilter and fiber artist, took her first quilting class in 1975 in a neighborhood fabric store in Huntington Beach. After living and traveling in Europe for a year, she settled in Santa Cruz. She continued to sew and make quilts for her family while teaching as a bilingual elementary school teacher. Ann estimates she has made over 300 bed quilts. She is the former president of the Pajaro Valley Quilt Association, and her work has been juried into shows all over the country. Ann is passionate about using repurposed materials in her art projects. Her most popular pieces reflect the wonder of California’s natural world. Her show at Gayle’s will run through January 2018.
